Towson-Based Dulaney Plaza Adds Two Tenants to Courtyard Shops

11/24/20

Taken, a home decor boutique, and OCB Spa join the roster of women-owned businesses

Dulaney Plaza, Towson's premiere one-stop-shopping destination for more than 60 years, today announced the official opening of two new tenants: Taken and OCB Spa.

Taken, a home decor shop curating art, kitchenware and bath products, opened its doors at the center this month after hosting successful pop-up shops over the years.

“It became clear to me that a ‘home base' was an important next step to growing my business,” said Taken’s owner, Vanessa Milio. “I wanted a place where we could showcase makers, host workshops and build community in a new way. For the last two years we've looked, met some amazing people and kept waiting for all the pieces to fall into place. It sounds a little crazy to say that all the pieces fell into place in the midst of a global pandemic but we found our home at Dulaney Plaza.”

The shop aims to find Maryland’s best makers whose products are quality crafted, sustainably sourced and uniquely local and mixed with vintage finds to bring customers a space that feels like home.

OCB Spa, short for Obsessive Compulsive Beauty, is another new tenant at the center, having relocated from a space just up the street in October 2020. OCB Spa is a private studio where owner and Licensed Esthetician Kristen Floyd provides services such as facials, waxing, chemical peels, makeup, eyelash extensions, eyebrow henna and spray tanning. OCB Spa also carries a full line of PETA-approved, paraben, fragrance and dye free skincare and makeup products.

“We are thrilled to welcome both Taken and OCB Spa to Dulaney Plaza, even in this extraordinarily difficult time for retail and small businesses,” said Lauryn Taubman Lukin of Taubman Properties, owners of Dulaney Plaza. “Dulaney Plaza has been a family business for three generations, serving the shopping needs of Towson for decades. We have always carefully selected tenants that are a good fit for our existing customers, fellow shops and the community and have found that in these two new tenants. We are committed to doing everything we can to help grow these phenomenal small businesses.”

Taken and OCB Spa join three other women-owned businesses in the Courtyard Shops at Dulaney Plaza: Form Salon, which just celebrated its sixth anniversary at Dulaney Plaza, Towne Barre, a boutique Barre and Pilates Studio, which just celebrated their second anniversary and The Rellim Collection, which opened at the end of 2019, an art consultancy and gallery.
