Carsins Run Breaking Ground Oct 21

10/13/20

Harford County’s first continuing care retirement community Carsins Run at Eva Mar will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its Manor Home residences and Sales Center on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 11 a.m. The ceremony will take place outdoors at the Carsins Run site adjacent to the Welcome Center located at 301 North Fountain Green Road in Bel Air, Maryland. Guidelines on masks and social distancing will be followed at this event.

Joining Carsins Run leadership at this ceremony celebrating the start of construction will be Maryland Secretary of Commerce Kelly Schulz, Harford County Councilman Robert Wagner who will present a citation to Carsins Run commemorating the day, future Carsins Run residents, area business leaders, and other elected officials including Delegate Teresa Reilly, Harford County Council President Pat Vincenti and others.

The Manor Homes will be condo-style apartments with large floor plans located in small neighborhood-style settings. The Manor Homes will also include indoor elevator access, garage parking, with corner balconies and patios. The retirement living campus will include 3 Manor Homes with 40 total apartments in 2-3 story buildings. There will be 10 apartments in one and 15 apartments in each of the other two Manor Home buildings. Each Manor Home will have a small common space and include resident storage areas.

The first Manor Home is expected to be completed by Fall 2021. More than 50 independent living residences have been reserved.

“We are so excited to be breaking ground on this important project. Harford County has been losing its seniors for decades to neighboring counties that have continuing care retirement communities. We want to keep our seniors here in Harford County enjoying what they love – family, friends, churches, shopping, and much more,” said Carsins Run President and CEO Sue Shea. “The Manor Homes have become increasingly popular as they offer more privacy than the larger clubhouse building. Some seniors want more comradery in their living and choose the clubhouse apartments while others want more privacy and their own garage and choose the Manor Homes. We have options for everyone looking to live maintenance free as they age in place right here in Harford County.”

The Manor Homes will start the campus construction process followed by the independent living clubhouse and apartments, comprehensive nursing, memory care, and assisted living residences.
