Active Aging Week (October 1-7) Connects with One-year Anniversary of Keswick’s Wise & Well Center for Healthy Living

10/2/19

Active Aging Week, organized by the International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA), is a national observance that showcases the diverse opportunities available to older adults. The weeklong campaign calls attention to and celebrates the positivity of aging today. The goal is to inspire people to try something new – and perhaps adopt a wellness focus in all areas of life.

#activeagingweek comes as Keswick Community Health celebrates the one-year anniversary of its Wise & Well Center for Healthy Living, 14,000 square feet of dedicated space where active, older adults can socialize, exercise and embark on their health journey with a supportive team to help them along the way.The Wise and Well Center at Keswick opens the door for participants to explore new places and activities, make new friends, and find new ways to contribute to communities.

“Positive life experiences are what Keswick is all about,” says Carmel Roques, Keswick President and CEO. “Our active-aging philosophy celebrates older adults as full participants in the cultural, civic and personal areas of life. Our programs appreciate their accomplishments, recognize their capabilities, and support their continued growth, while offering them opportunities to learn more about living well at any age.”

A variety of upcoming Fall activities are available in the Keswick Wise and Well Center including: Artful Minds; Daring Way™: Courage, Vulnerability and Leadership workshop,JumpStart Fitness, AgeSTRONG and many more.

Active Aging Week encourages all Americans to Live Their Adventure by moving – whether they walk, roll, hike, bike, or dance. A reminder to older adults about ways to increase their movement and physical activity during this week can help them add years to their lives and add life to their years.
