For nearly a century, the Pratt Central Library has stood as a testament to our commitment to public education and I’m proud that the tradition will continue for another century.”

The Pratt Central Library first opened its doors on Cathedral Street in 1933. This is the first full-scale restoration of the building. The $115 million renovation was funded by the state of Maryland, city of Baltimore, and the generosity of private donors. Managing architects on the project were Ayers Saint Gross. Beyer Blinder Belle served as lead architects. Sandra Vicchio & Associates served as consulting architects. Construction was managed by Gilbane Building Company.
