Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation (BMGC), also known as Baltimore’s Classic Five, today announced Jon Ladd, PGA, will retire as Executive Director at the end of this year.

Ladd has served the Baltimore golf community for nearly four decades and has been the executive director of BMGC since 2006. Prior to this role, Ladd served as the director of golf of BMGC and the Head PGA Professional at Pine Ridge Golf Course.

“Jon has played a vital role in growing the game of golf in Baltimore during his time with BMGC,” said Larry Jennings, board chairman of BMGC and Senior Managing Director and Co-Founder of ValStone Partners. “We wish him all the best in his retirement, and while he will surely be missed, we look forward to continuing his work of managing Baltimore’s golf courses.”

When BMGC was founded in 1985, Ladd was the first employee hired and served as Head PGA Professional at Mount Pleasant Golf Course. Before moving to Baltimore in 1980, Ladd graduated from Ferris State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Professional Golf Management.

“I am forever grateful to BMGC for continuing my career in Baltimore that started under the legendary Johnny Bass, who was then the Head PGA Professional at Pine Ridge and allowing me to serve such a wonderful community of golfers,” said Jon Ladd. “It has been a rewarding experience managing the Classic Five courses and I know the courses will continue to thrive under new leadership.”

Ladd will retire to his home state of Indiana with his family. BMGC’s Board of Directors will soon begin searching to fill the executive director role.
