Saft Cockeysville Hosts Industry Day with Local Dignitaries

Wu; Annie Sennet, President and CEO of Saft America and Executive Vice President of the Space & Defense Division; and Baltimore County Executive John “Johnny O” Olszewski, Jr. Wu presented Annie Sennet, President and CEO of Saft America and Executive Vice President of the Space & Defense Division, a special citation for Saft.

Saft Cockeysville hosts Industry Day

More than 100 guests attended Saft Cockeysville’s Industry Day on Thursday, May 30. Baltimore County Executive John “Johnny O” Olszewski, Jr. and Deputy Secretary of the Maryland Department of Commerce Benjamin H. Wu spoke at the event. They focused on the importance and contributions of Saft to Baltimore County and the state, as well as the manufacturing industry in Maryland.

Saft America supplies customized battery solutions to business partners in all branches of the U.S. military, the U.S. Government, and the top defense prime contractors. Industry Day featured tours of the 24-hour, 91,000 sq. ft. "Made in America" Cockeysville facility which employees over 260 workers. Presentations included new developments in space batteries, advancements in electrochemistry and battery safety.

Saft batteries made in Cockeysville are on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the Improved Target Acquisition System (ITAS) for tow missile launchers, the GOES-R NASA weather satellite and U.S. and international military vehicles. Saft is headquartered in France and was founded more than 100 years ago in 1918.
