Point Breeze Credit Union Makes $20,000 Donation To The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region

3/7/19

Point Breeze Credit Union has donated $20,000 to support The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (NCR).

“Point Breeze Credit Union’s donation will go directly to people supported by The Arc NCR and allow us to enhance or increase much-needed services,” says Shawn Kros, the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. The Arc NCR currently supports more than 355 individuals and employs over 300 people living in Harford and Cecil Counties.

Kros notes that The Arc NCR has helped people with differing abilities (intellectual and developmental disabilities) to “live, work, and thrive in the community for more than 66 years. We currently offer services in the areas of community living, supported employment and training, community partners day program for adults, treatment foster care, family support services, personal supports, services for transitioning youth, and transportation.”

“While Point Breeze is proud to be a reliable financial institution, we are a neighbor and a member of our community first,” says Point Breeze President and CEO Bernard McLaughlin. “Because we take our role to contribute to the community in which we live and work very seriously, we are dedicated to helping organizations like The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region. The Arc NCR plays a vitally important role in our community’s well-being by helping people with differing abilities to build better lives, one person at a time.”

In addition to The Arc NCR, Point Breeze currently provides financial and volunteer support for a wide range of organizations throughout the Baltimore area, including Carroll County Hospital’s new Neonatal Couplet Care Program and two nonprofit organizations focused on supporting young people in Baltimore City – Arts Every Day and Bridges.
