First MLB Experience 'Really Special' For Orioles' David Hess

For Orioles right-hander David Hess, getting sent back to the minor leagues had a positive side byproduct.

Hess was the 26th man for Baltimore during its doubleheader with the Tampa Bay Rays May12 and started the first game. He gave up three runs on six hits and struck out three over six innings, earning the win in his major league debut. He was returned to Triple-A Norfolk after the doubleheader, as the Orioles needed to get back to a 25-man roster ahead of their game May 13.

But Hess made a detour on his way back to Norfolk. His wife, Devin, graduated from West Virginia University May 13, and he attended the ceremony.
