RMF Engineering

Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate firm specializing in tenant representation, has completed a lease renewal for RMF Engineering, Inc. The largest tenant in the building, RMF will maintain its 27,862-square-foot headquarters on the third floor of 5520 Research Park Drive in Baltimore. The new lease will commence in April of 2019.

“Renewing our lease at bwtech@UMBC, most importantly, provides our clients and employees continued accessibility to and from our headquarters,” said Duane Pinnix, president and CEO of RMF Engineering. “Savills Studley understood our business priorities and aligned them with a strategic real estate solution. We are proud to have a space that reflects our innovative culture and identity as a leading full-service engineering firm.”

With 12 offices across the United States, RMF Engineering leads the industry in the development of new engineering production methods and technologies for clients in the healthcare, higher education, laboratory/research and government sectors. An award-winning engineering firm, RMF has won multiple project awards, is annually named to Consulting Specifying-Engineer’s “MEP Giants” list and is regularly named a top-performing “Circle of Excellence” firm by PSMJ Resources.

Located on the campus of University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), 5520 Research Park, also known as bwtech@UMBC Research & Technology Park, offers access to campus amenities including fitness, childcare, conferencing, cultural and dining facilities. Built in 2008, the building is owned, managed and represented by Corporate Office Properties Trust.

The Savills Studley team included Baltimore Senior Managing Director George Santos and Managing Director Ryan Miller, who negotiated the terms on behalf of RMF Engineering.

“Supported by our high-quality market research and in-depth analysis, RMF ultimately decided to renew its lease and remain in its current location,” said Santos. “5520 Research Park has been home to the firm for nearly a decade. Their tenure in the building and the tenant-favorable market conditions provided the leverage we needed to secure agreeable terms that would meet the client’s functional and economic goals.”

Savills Studley launched its Baltimore office in 2015, expanding the firm’s footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region. The office delivers sophisticated real estate advisory and transaction services to the area’s top tenants, including government, non-profit, education, healthcare, legal, technology, financial and industrial users. Since opening, the Baltimore location has developed a track record of achievement and creative problem-solving for clients of all sizes and across all industries.
