Joey Chiu’s Restaurant in Green Spring Station Undergoes Significant Renovations

2/23/17

Joey Chiu’s Restaurant, a fixture at Green Spring Station for more than 25 years, has unveiled a new look. The family-run restaurant, specializing in Chinese cuisine, underwent extensive renovations to its bar and restaurant.

The improvements include a complete modernization of the extremely popular bar area with expanded seating and addition of high top tables as well as new carpeting and paint throughout the facility. New furniture, artwork, and light fixtures complete the upgrade. The newly updated design incorporates warm earth tones and natural textures to produce a calming, pleasant dining atmosphere. ARK Design and Savoy/Brown Consultants provided design consultation on the project.

“It was time for an update,” said Mimi Yu, general manager of Joey Chiu’s. “We wanted a fresher, more soothing atmosphere for our customers and we think our new design achieves that. We hope our diners love our new look as much as they’ve always loved our food.”

Joey Chiu’s restaurant is a neighborhood staple, serving local regulars as well as many Baltimore notables. In addition to Chinese food, the restaurant is known for its delicious crab cakes, sushi, fresh lobster from the lobster tank and and more typical American fare, as well as its wildly popular SundayBrunch.

“I believe that we have been so successful over these last 25 years because we treat all of our customers like family. That plus a great location and delicious food! We hope to be here as a family run business for at least another 25 years,” said Joey Chiu.

Joey Chiu’s Restaurant has been owned and operated by the Chiu family – Joey, his wife Connie and son Andy, since 1992. They have had other successful Chinese restaurants in the past, most notably the Bamboo House of both Cockeysville and Harbor Place in the Inner Harbor.
