About Camp St. Vincent – www.vincentbaltimore.org/camp
Camp St. Vincent is designed for homeless children living in shelters and transitional housing and addresses the negative impact of homelessness on their academic, social and emotional development. The camp works to help prevent summer learning loss and increase swim abilities through traditional camp experiences such as swimming instruction, arts, athletics and music along with structured reading and math curriculum, psycho-social groups, cultural enrichment activities and field trips. Within the safety and support of a therapeutic environment, campers develop positive, trusting relationships with adults that assist them in maintaining grade-appropriate academic performance, developing social competence and problem solving skills, strengthening autonomy and gaining a sense of purpose.
