Investment Counselors of Maryland Reports $1.9B in Holdings - cbl

BALTIMORE -- In an SEC filing, Investment Counselors of Maryland, LLC reported that its holdings total $1.89 billion.
Of the 280 items in its portfolio, the five largest investments include: Denver-based Whiting Petroleum Corp., $35.33 million; Crystal Lake, Ill.-based AptarGroup, Inc., $31.48 million; Hercules, Calif.-based Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc., $27.64 million; Long Island City, N.Y.-based Sirona Dental Systems, Inc., $27.03 million; and Paoli, Pa.-based Ametek, Inc., $24.19 million.
Founded in 1972, Investment Counselors of Maryland manages portfolios for institutional clients (public and corporate retirement funds, endowments and foundations) and taxable assets for wealthy families and individuals.
The firm is led by William V. Heaphy and Simeon F. Wooten, III. Heaphy was formerly an associate in the Baltimore law firm of Ober, Kaler, Grimes and Shriver. Wooten previously served as Vice President/Research at Adams Express Company, a closed-end mutual fund also located in Baltimore.
Named in the filing was Linda Rosatelli, the firm's chief compliance officer and senior vice president of operations since 2006.
