Elayne Hettleman Receives United Way's Clementine Peterson Award for Service
TOWSON, MD -- Leadership Baltimore County (LBC) is very pleased to announce that Elayne Hettleman, LBC Executive Director, recently received the Clementine Peterson Award from the United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) at their 2010 Annual Meeting. The Clementine Peterson Award was first endowed in 1971 to recognize outstanding members of the Women's Council who have performed outstanding service over the past year on behalf of United Way.
Ms. Hettleman has been a member of the Community Partnership Board of United Way of Central Maryland since 2004 and single-handedly helped strengthen the Board's structure during her tenure as Chair of the Board Volunteer Development Committee. "Elayne has taken the time to understand the work of United Way," states Windy Deese, Senior Regional Manager of UWCM. "She has been the most wonderful supporter of United Way over the years and even out socially, she is promoting the cause! I cannot think of a more deserving recipient of this special award."
Guidelines for the Clementine Peterson Award include:
*Demonstrated leadership in broadening the horizons of community service within the boundaries of UWCM
*Performed outstanding service on behalf of UWCM
*Contributed personal energies in a way that is unique and significant to UWCM
Elayne Hettleman is currently Executive Director of Leadership Baltimore County, a not for profit organization preparing individuals for leadership roles within their respective communities.
