Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center To Host “Bone Bash”
Baltimore, Md. - Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center will host the Bone Bash event benefiting the Department of Orthopaedics. It will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 7:30 to 11:00 p.m. at the Tremont Grand (225 N. Charles Street) in Baltimore. The Bone Bash will feature music, dancing, food and a staff recognition program.
Proceeds benefit hip fracture research at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. A hip fracture is a potentially life-threatening injury that commonly leads to loss of mobility and independence.
The mission of the Department of Orthopaedics includes providing quality and accessible orthopaedic care, graduate orthopaedic medical education and professional staff development such as research and publication of scientific inquiries. The department works to develop ways to prevent hip fractures by strengthening bones, and ways to improve the care of patients who are in the hospital after a fracture.
The Bone Bash is open to the public. Attire is black tie optional. Tickets are $100 each, or a table of 10 seats is $1000. Guests may RSVP and purchase tickets by contacting Wendy Twilley at 410-550-0101 or wtwille1@jhmi.edu. For more information, visit www.hopkinsbayview.org/development/specialevents.html.
