The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Awards Contract for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive Support to STC

This contract will provide the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM), headquartered at the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland, with integrated science, technology, and engineering solutions to address the defense needs of the warfighter. The Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) will be serviced by this contract and has lead responsibility for monitoring work performed under this contract. The ECBC mission is to develop, integrate, and sustain decisive technology-enabled capabilities to ensure the dominance of our warfighters.

The ECBC has selected Science and Technology Corporation (STC) Team of 500 Edgewood Road, Edgewood, Maryland to provide Engineering Support, Research & Technology (R&T) Support, and Program and Integration Support to the ECBC and other customers in the Edgewood, Maryland area. The ECBC CBRNE Support Contract is a five-year contract supporting the non-medical needs of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) defense agencies. The Edgewood Area of APG, Maryland, is home to many other organizations that together form a consolidated chemical biological defense community. Each of these organizations, and their subordinate offices, will be serviced by this contract. Government organizations that are co-located with ECBC, or have major offices on the Edgewood Area of APG include, but not limited to US Army Medical Research Institute for Chemical Defense, Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense; Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine; Chemical Materials Agency; Assembled Chemical Weapons Activity; 20th Support Command; and the Department of Homeland Security.

Headquartered at 10 Basil Sawyer Drive, Hampton, VA, STC directs a team of exceptional companies for this contract. Established in 1979, STC is a Small Business with over 450 employees at 25 locations in the U.S. STC possesses more than 30 years of Chemical and Biological experience and provides management and technical support services to the Department of Defense (DOD), NASA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and 15 other federal agencies. The Team consist of primary teaming partners and second level support partners with URS Corporation; Noblis (Formerly known as Mitretek Systems); HDT Engineered Technologies, Inc.; CSC; Clean Earth Technologies; Mobile Digital Systems; SDSE, Accounting and Computer Solutions, Inc.; Cooper Zietz Engineers; Darkhorse Industries, LLC; and several other non-exclusive companies. We also have Alabama A&M, Morgan State University, and New Mexico State University.
