Anthony McCarthy Appointed to Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board

Baltimore, Maryland - Anthony McCarthy, talk show host and political commentator, has accepted a position on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (MHCC).

The MHCC promotes economic development in the Hispanic community and works to support the growing needs of Hispanic business leaders throughout the state of Maryland.

"We are thrilled to have Anthony join us in our work to promote diversity in the business community in Maryland," said MHCC chairwoman Maria Welch. "He brings a wealth of public relations skills and political knowledge to our board that will be helpful to our community and he is an important bridge between the African American and Hispanic business communities," she added.

MHCC will join with the Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in Montgomery County and Baltimore City to host a legislative reception on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 5 - 8 pm in the Montgomery County Delegation Room, Room 107 at the House of Delegates office Building, 6 Bladen Street in Annapolis.

Anthony McCarthy hosts a news and public affairs on public radio WEAA. He is a former spokesperson for Congressman Elijah Cummings and Mayor Sheila Dixon and was the editor of The AFRO American Newspaper and The Baltimore Times. The Anthony McCarthy Show is a production of the Center for Emerging Media where McCarthy is a senior media fellow.
