Loyola Computer Science Department Hosts Forum on Improving Aircraft Cockpit Displays

WHAT: "Rethinking the Aircraft Flight Display," a presentation by Steve Fritz of Emerald Sky Technologies, a Columbia, Md., firm working with NASA and other partners to improve aircraft cockpit displays. These displays have presented information in largely the same form since the 1920s.

DETAILS: This event is the second Advanced Technology Forum sponsored by Loyola's computer science department, which offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science and software engineering. For more information on the forum, e-mail inquiry@cs.loyola.edu. Fritz will focus on human-computer interaction and the software engineering components of his display, and attendees will be able to experience the company's flight simulator. The event includes a discussion period, and refreshments will be served.

Established in 1852, Loyola University Maryland is a Jesuit comprehensive university comprising Loyola College, home to its arts and sciences programs; the Sellinger School of Business and Management; and the School of Education. Loyola enrolls 3,700 undergraduate and 2,400 graduate students from across the country.
