Focusing on Fun leads to Profits for Stacy Pesacov's Full Potential Marketing

Harford County, MD - In today's economy, focusing on fun might seem to be a risky business proposition. Not if you ask Stacy Pesacov, founder and CEO of Full Potential Marketing, however. Pesacov has dedicated her business to creating fun through an ever-growing series of consumer shows and special events. And she's done so well with it that her privately held company has experienced 1300% growth since its founding in 2002.

Pesacov had worked in the consumer and trade show industry for years when she recognized an opportunity. While there were companies producing home shows, they had a limited consumer focus. Based on significant research she realized that by expanding on the home show concept and adding quality and depth, she could create an event that would be, in her words, "successful for the exhibitors and entertaining and useful for the audience - the perfect match."

"In 2003 I saw a definite need for a consumer event that allowed high-quality, high-end providers of design, furniture, art, travel and more a venue to showcase their businesses in a setting that would appeal to their customer. That wasn't being done, and really still isn't being done outside of our shows." Thus, the Howard Live Food, Libations and Luxury Home Show and the Harford LIVE! Home & Garden Show were born.

Pesacov focuses on creating events that deliver business to exhibitors by creating fun, elegant entertainment for attendees. "I make a living by creating events that allow companies to build their business in a positive memorable atmosphere," she explains. "The events also offer the venues excellent publicity and exposure."

Her approach is paying off. Full Potential Marketing plans to double the number of events produced in 2010, adding the DC Metropolitan Food, Libations and Luxury Home Show at the Gaylord National Hotel at National Harbor, and the Philadelphia Food, Libations and Luxury Home Show.

Producing so many shows and maintaining quality is a daunting job - it takes from 8 to 12 months to put each show together. "It's challenging and exciting to keep the shows fresh," Pesacov explains. "I know I always want to be entertained when I go somewhere and I want my shows to be events that would impress me. We work to stay on top of trends and what's current. We know that if we make a visitor's experience one that's different and full of surprises at every turn, it helps to emphasize the companies exhibiting at the show. That makes them more memorable due to the overall experience a visitor has. There are a "bazillion" resources to find something today, and being part of one of our shows helps companies to differentiate themselves."

All Pesacov's work translates to the 1300% growth that supports a growing full-time staff and dozens of vendors on annual contracts. But while Pesacov's company is growing, she's more focused on quality business than expansion at any cost. "I've been successful because I haven't succumbed to growing the business just for the sake of growth," she says. "I take calculated risks and do an enormous amount of research to make sure every part of each event is executed to its fullest. That's the only way to make sure exhibitors and visitors keep coming back."
