Pasadena Woman Convicted of Insurance Fraud
BALTIMORE, MD - Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler announced today that Antoinette Fredora McRae, 43, of PAsadena, has been sentenced on a single count of insurance fraud. Judge Joann Ellinghaus-Jones of the Carroll County District Court imposed probation before judgment, restitution of $7,809, and three years
supervised probation.
During the period of April 2005 through August 2005, McRae, a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy Nurse Corps, submitted forged invoices to The Hartford Insurance Group in support of her grandmother's insurance claim for fire damage at the grandmother's Washington, D.C. home.
The conviction follows a joint investigation by the Insurance Fraud Division of the Maryland Insurance Administration and the Office of the Attorney General. In making today's announcement, Attorney General Gansler thanked Assistant Attorney General Benjamin Harris for his work on the case.
