Hannah More School Receives Grant from ExxonMobil

Grant Money Buys Floor Jack Tool for School's Automotive Trades Program

REISTERSTOWN, Md. -- Hannah More School, which provides individualized academic, vocational and therapeutic programs to students with disabilities, received a $750 grant from ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program. Diana Cavey, owner of the Exxon service station on the corner of Franklin Boulevard and Reisterstown Road, recommended Hannah More School for the grant. She has secured Hannah More the grant every year since 2001.

"We are so grateful for ExxonMobil and Diana Cavey's continued support," says Mark Waldman, president of Hannah More School. "This grant is instrumental in helping our automotive trades program expand and allows our students to continue learning and working with equipment vital to the field."

The school's 22 automotive students learn automotive maintenance and repair in a shop that services vehicles owned by the school staff. This grant has already helped pay for a Norco 3 Ton Fast Jack Floor Jack. This heavy duty jack is designed to lift numerous automobiles including most large SUVs for services such as tire changes. The jack has a steel hydraulic block construction allowing for easy student use. A safety overload system also prevents the jack from being used beyond its rated capacity. Additionally, the grant paid for other tools and materials used in the automotive trades program.

Hannah More School provides individualized academic, vocational and therapeutic programs to elementary (grades four and five), middle and high school students with disabilities including emotional disturbance, autism, specific learning disabilities or health impairments, and students whose behaviors have hindered their ability to be successful in public school. The school is committed to providing programs in a nurturing and educationally challenging environment, so that students may develop the skills necessary to reach their greatest potential in an increasingly complex and culturally diverse society. For more information, please visit www.hannahmore.org or call the school at 410-526-5000.
