Mt. Washington Village Hosts 2nd Annual Block Party

The Mt. Washington Village Association announced that it will host a Block Party on Sunday, September 30 from 12 noon to 6 p.m.  Visitors are invited to walk the streets of Mt. Washington for an afternoon of live music, shopping, children's activities, food and drinks at the Village's participating restaurants, boutiques and spas.  The event is free of charge and the proceeds will benefit the Mt. Washington School and PTO.

"The Mt. Washington Village Block Party is a chance for Baltimoreans to experience an eclectic neighborhood that is hidden gem in the city," commented Koula Savvakis, president of the Mt. Washington Village Association.  "This Block Party is an opportunity to spend time in the retail shops, taste diverse cuisine from local area restaurants and be entertained by music and a fashion show."

The Block Party will feature a variety of food and drinks from the local restaurants including Ethel and Ramone's, Crepe Du Jour, Desert Caf, Chiyu Sushi, Blue Sage Cafe and Mt. Washington Tavern – which represent Cajun, French, Mediterranean, Asian and American cuisines.

The Block Party is designed to showcase the local businesses of Mt. Washington while providing a fun and relaxed environment.  The Mt. Washington School will organize a children's play area with crafts and games.  A fashion show will take place throughout the day that highlights the fall fashion trends from La Chic Boutque as well as hair and makeup by DK Salon & Spa.

Live music and entertainment will be provided by the Swingin' Swamis, the Rube Goldberg Solution, Neuronal Jazz Quintet, Jada Givenchy, Shasha and DJ David "Hit Man" Robinson.
