Grand Opening of Firehouse Subs in Westminster, Md.

12/28/12

FAST CASUAL CHAIN BRINGS STEAMING HOT SUBS TO MARYLAND TOWN

Firehouse Subs is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its first location in Westminster. The restaurant is famous for steaming its premium meats and cheeses piled high atop toasted sub rolls and served "Fully Involved" with fresh produce. The authentic firehouse setting is based on the founding family's 200 years of firefighting heritage, and the new location is decorated with local firefighter memorabilia donated by Westminster Fire Department.

The restaurant features a Coca-Cola Freestyle fountain, offering 120+ sparkling and still beverage brands. The sleek, stylish unit is touch-screen operated with regular and low-calorie beverage brands, many exclusive to Coca-Cola Freestyle. Guests choose from endless possibilities many never before marketed in the United States. Choices include brands such as caffeine-free Diet Coke with Lime, Fanta Peach, Minute Maid Light Orange Lemonade and more.

Firehouse Subs favorites include the Hook & Ladder piled high with Smoked Turkey and Virginia Honey Ham smothered with Monterey Jack cheese and the New York Steamer, inspired by New York delicatessens, combining corned beef brisket and pastrami topped with Provolone.  All large Specialty Subs boast a half-pound of meat.

The Chief's Salad and hearty, award-winning Firehouse Chili provide additional flavorful options, as does the top selling non-carbonated fountain drink, Cherry Lime-Aid, an exclusive original recipe served with fresh squeezed lime. Families are welcome at Firehouse Subs and children enjoy kid-sized hot subs and a complimentary fire hat.

Every Firehouse Subs restaurant boasts a custom, hand-painted mural and this location's captures the spirit of Westminster by illustrating Westminster citizens and local firefighters enjoying the town carnival. Firehouse Subs Westminster is located at 625 Baltimore Blvd., and is open Sunday-Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Friday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. This is the first Firehouse Subs restaurant for franchisees Dexter White, Jason Hammond and Camille Hammond.

Firehouse Subs is a fast casual restaurant chain with a passion for Hearty and Flavorful Food, Heartfelt Service and Public Safety. Founded by former firefighters and brothers Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, Firehouse Subs is a brand built on decades of fire and police service, the highest quality meats and cheeses piled higher, steaming hot subs, and its commitment to saving lives through the creation of Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The founders are the real deal, the food is their creation, and the company is built upon a family of franchise operators that share their same passion for serving others. Firehouse Subs consistently ranks No. 1 among fast casual brands in the categories of food quality, taste and flavor, and friendly service; for the last two years Franchise Business Review has ranked it No. 1 in franchisee satisfaction, and in 2012, the brand earned first place honors in the sandwich category in the Nation's Restaurant News Consumer Picks study.

In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs has given $5.7 million to hometown heroes in 35 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $59,100 in Maryland.
