Doctors Regional Cancer Center has opened Phase One of its newly renovated facilities featuring a new entrance, expanded services to include high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy and additional patient exam rooms and treatment areas. The final phase of construction, expected to be completed by summer 2013, will encompass expanding the facility further to increase patient capacity.
"This expansion project will transform our center and offer the most advanced radiation treatment for cancer in the region," said Jack Nyiri, director of Doctors Regional Cancer Center.
Doctors Regional Cancer Center has offices in Bowie and Lanham, Md., and provides radiation therapy services to the communities of Prince George's, Arundel and Montgomery counties. The center's Lanham office is located on the campus of Doctors Community Hospital. Doctors Regional Cancer Center is a joint venture of Doctors Community Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital and Adventist Healthcare.
