Dr. Peggy Bradford is the new vice president of academic affairs at Baltimore City Community College. During her yearlong tenure as interim vice president of academic affairs at BCCC, Dr. Bradford led successful efforts to raise student completion rates, revamp the college's developmental education program and assess student learning outcomes across more than 700 of the college's courses. Working closely with faculty, she played an instrumental role launching BCCC's ambitious new five-year academic master plan. Before her arrival at BCCC, Dr. Bradford was dean of academic affairs for three years at Cuyahoga Community College (Metropolitan Campus) in Cleveland, one of the largest public community colleges in the country. She is a 20-year veteran of academic leadership, having served as both vice president of legal and human services and general counsel for Elgin Community College (Ill.); acting vice president of academic affairs and dean of liberal arts for Rock Valley College (Ill.); and associate dean of social sciences for College of DuPage (Ill.). She was selected as a Fulbright Scholar in Ghana, Africa and was an invited panelist at the Oxford University Roundtable, Oxford, England. Dr. Bradford holds a doctoral degree in higher education with a concentration in community college leadership from Northern Illinois University. She earned her law degree in corporate and business planning from the University of Iowa, and holds a master's in administration and community development from Southern Illinois University.
