Black Oak Raises Nearly Half of $40 Million Offering

Black Oak Associates has raised $18.8 million, or 47% of a $40 million share offering, from 52 investors, according to an SEC filing.
Principals named in the filing by the Owings Mills-based developer of commercial real estate included the following promoters of the issuer, Black Oak IV LP:
• R. Dixon Harvey Jr.;
• Jack Griswold; and
• Michael Trenery.
Black Oak Associates develops shopping centers and mixed use projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. It was founded by Harvey, who previously served as a development director for Riparius Development Corp. He also has worked at Enterprise Development Company, an international firm headed by James W. Rouse.
