Maryland Multi-Housing Association’s Golf Outing Raises $10,000 for Homeless Veterans in Baltimore City

6/20/18

The Maryland Multi-Housing Association (MMHA) is pleased to announce that its 21st annual golf tournament, which was held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, raised $10,000 for The Baltimore Station, a residential treatment program supporting veterans and others transitioning from homelessness and substance use to self-sufficiency. Since 2009, the housing industry group has donated $132,455 to The Baltimore Station.

MMHA’s 2018 golf outing, sponsored by Moran’s Elite Termite & Pest Management Company, brought together MMHA’s member businesses and organizations, as well as residents from the communities they serve. Attendees enjoyed delicious food, cocktails, raffles and 18 holes of golf on the beautiful fairways of Mountain Branch Golf Club in Joppa, MD, with the proceeds benefitting The Baltimore Station. In all, 144 golfers attended the event.

MMHA was The Station’s first “Friend of The Station,” an honor that recognizes individual donors, businesses and other partners that have committed the highest level of financial support. MMHA serves as a sponsor of The Baltimore Station’s two largest fundraising events—Homerun for Recovery and Stars, Stripes & Chow Chili Cookoff Edition—and volunteers at a variety of activities throughout the year. Both MMHA’s staff and its members – which include many of Maryland’s residential housing providers (apartment communities) and companies that supply goods and services to the multi-housing industry – routinely get involved at The Station to help serve meals, provide maintenance services, and seek out job training and placement opportunities for the veterans and other residents.
