Managing Millennials? Empower Them with More Mobility

4/3/18

One in three U.S. employees is a Millennial. They grew up with the Internet and start and end their days with their mobile devices in hand.

Whether working in the office, at home, or on the go, having the right mobility solutions in place encourages these employees to become more efficient, innovative and productive.

Here are a few ways to create and support a mobile-friendly work environment:

  • Integration – The integration of mobile phones with the premises voice system can provide all the calling features, applications and services needed to allow employees to work anywhere, anytime without sacrificing functionality and performance. They can even be reached on their mobile device via their office number or extension, ensuring prompt response to customers and colleagues.
  • Cloud Technology – With voice and data capabilities hosted in the cloud, employees can have secure access to all the productivity tools they need, no matter where they may be working or what device they may be using.
  • Mobile Apps – The same calling, conferencing and collaboration capabilities available in the office can be at employees’ fingertips to initiate, join or manage conferences, as well as audio and video calls through easy-to-use mobile apps.
  • BYOD Support – With the trend among Millennials to bring their own devices into the workplace, it is essential that businesses have the infrastructure in place to extend security and management of corporate data to those devices.
  • Telework – With a broadband Internet connection and IP Phone, home-based and branch office staff can have access to all the same unified communications capabilities they would have if they were in the office. This capability can even be used by out-of-region call center agents.
  • In-Building Cellular – Having an amplifier installed on your premises to boost carrier cell signals allows mobile devices to be used for voice and data throughout the building without the risk of dropping connections.

Equipping your business with mobility solutions obviously comes at added cost, but the benefits far outweigh the cost when today’s employees have more work flexibility and job satisfaction, which go a long way toward encouraging efficiency, innovation and productivity.
