Amanda Tinkler Named Executive Director of University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation

Amanda (Mimi) Tinkler has been named Executive Director of the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center (UM SJMC) Foundation. Serving as interim Executive Director since November, Tinkler joined the organization in 2011 as the manager of donor relations and quickly rose through the ranks becoming the manager of Donor Relations and Philanthropy Services in 2013, the Director of Communications and Philanthropy in 2015, and was most recently the Director of Development until assuming the interim role. She brings a wealth of experience to the position with focused attention to detail and strong relationship building skills.

Tinkler has been instrumental in supporting and creating major hospital initiatives withphilanthropic funding for various projects including renovations of operating rooms, various hospital wings, the Jim and Bette O’Conor Nursery, the Paul C. McAfee, MD, MBA and Otto C. Brantigan, MD Medical Library and the Serpick Infusion Center; the funding of nursing education programs, St. Clare Medical Outreach, the Emmert Hobbs Image Renewal Center, Healing Therapies and the Geraldine G. Schultz Fund for Breast Cancer Survivors, to name a few.

Additionally, TInkler co-managed UM SJMC’s 150th Anniversary Gala that raised $1.5 million in just nine months and helped develop and implement the Healing Hands Guild and Profiles of Compassion initiative featuring recognition walls that honor physicians and nurses.

Her expertise in developing signature events to support fund-raising and recognition celebrations highlights the importance of philanthropic giving.

As Executive Director of the Foundation, Tinkler is charged with leading her team through the successful completion of the $21 million Surgical Services capital campaign while working to serve the many other philanthropic needs of UM St. Joseph Medical Center. Tasked with managing corporate donor cultivation and stewardship programs, she will also create and implement annual giving strategies.
