Keswick Names Maria Darby as VP for Communications and External Relations

Keswick, a campus and community-based healthcare organization in Baltimore, is proud to announce that Maria Darby has been named Vice President for Communications and External Relations. In her new role, Darby will be responsible for overseeing enterprise wide (i.e. Keswick Multi-Care, Keswick Community Health, Keswick Management, and Keswick at Home) internal and external communications, public relations, marketing, fund development, donor relations, and volunteer service.

As Keswick’s previous Director of Development and External Relations, she has been responsible for implementing strategic communications programs that advance Keswick’s mission and visibility, from increasing brand recognition and community engagement to managing philanthropic activities and long-term operational plans.

With over 25 years of experience, Darby has a positive track record of serving the nonprofit community. In addition to having raised millions of dollars for a wide range of organizations, she has directed capital campaigns, developed a multitude of philanthropic partnerships, managed hundreds of grants and grant-reporting processes, led grassroots advocacy efforts and managed government relations efforts at the local and state level, and developed continual media and community partnerships in Maryland.

Darby is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Maryland Chapter and serves on the board of directors for the Govanstowne Business Association. Further, she is a committee member of the York Corridor Collective, where she is tasked with examining and making recommendations for economic development in the Govanstowne business district. Darby is also a member of Councilman Bill Henry’s 4th District Community Advisory Commission, board member for the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center, and has been a member of the Junior League of Baltimore for over 25 years in different leadership positions.

About Keswick Multi-Care Center Keswick Multi-Care Center has been serving the Baltimore community for over 130 years. Located on West 40th Street in northern Baltimore City, the campus encompasses a skilled nursing care community, a sub-acute rehabilitation program, and adult day services.
