Alex Cooper Auctioneers announced today that it has been selected by the Washington D.C Department of Housing and Community Development to auction 35 properties as part of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s “Vacant to Vibrant DC” initiative. The new action plan is designed to reactivate vacant spaces around the District into vibrant, productive solutions that include workforce housing, green spaces and small business opportunities.
On December 15, 2017, Mayor Muriel Bowser, along with Director of Housing and Community Development Polly Donaldson and Councilmembers Anita Bonds and Trayon White, held a press event at the Rosedale Recreation Center to announce the auction and launch of the “Vacant to Vibrant DC” community initiative. The auction will include 35 properties currently owned by the District’s Property Acquisition and Disposition Division (PADD).

The 5-day online auction will begin on January 18, 2018 and bidding ends on Tuesday January 23, 2018. Interested parties can access the online bidding platform at DHCD.AlexCooper.com.
