Venroy July and Amber Jackson
Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Venroy K. July and Amber N. Jackson, both lawyers in the firm’s Baltimore office, have been selected by Black Business Review for its inaugural 40 Under 40 honor for leaders who are improving and innovating Greater Baltimore business, their companies and the community.
As counsel in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group of Miles & Stockbridge, July represents clients in merger and acquisition transactions, private equity investments, financing arrangements, and general corporate and corporate governance matters. He was selected to take part in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Fellows Program, a landmark initiative to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.
July is also a member of the board of directors for the National Academy Foundation of Baltimore and formerly served on the board of Live Baltimore. He was a Baltimore Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree in 2014.
Jackson is an associate in the firm’s Labor, Employment, Benefits & Immigration Practice Group, where she represents employers in employment litigation and counsels clients on a range of labor and employment issues.She served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Yvette M. Bryant of the Baltimore City Circuit Court.
The former co-chair of the pro bono committee of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, Jackson has organized events to help lawyers learn about pro bono opportunities and has volunteered at expungement clinics. She was a Maryland delegate to the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division 2017 spring conference.
In 2016, Jackson was appointed by the Court of Appeals of Maryland to serve a two-year term on the 6th Judicial Circuit character committee for the State Board of Law Examiners. She also has volunteered with the Nathan Carter School of Music since 2012.
The Black Business Review’s40 Under 40 award recipients were honored at a December 7 networking reception in Baltimore.
