Luisella P. McBride

Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Luisella P. McBride, a public finance lawyer and counsel in the firm’s Real Estate & Transactional Finance Practice Group, has been presented with a 2017 Leading Women award from The Daily Record.

The honor is awarded to women, age 40 and younger, for the accomplishments they have made so far in their careers. A panel of previous Top 100 Women and Leading Women winners selected the honorees based on their professional experience, community involvement and commitment to inspiring change.

“Sella is highly regarded by her colleagues for her creativity and commitment to working through roadblocks and making deals happen,” said John B. Frisch, chairman and CEO of Miles & Stockbridge. “She is also respected for her dedication to improving the lives of individuals with autism and special needs children.”

About Luisella McBride

McBride focuses her practice on public finance transactions, including tax aspects of those deals, and commercial real estate finance. She has served as bond counsel for a wide variety of public finance transactions, including the issuance of tax-exempt, fixed and variable rate bonds, advance and current refundings, leases and installment purchase agreements. She also represents commercial lending institutions, developers, and investors in various financing and leasing projects.

For the past three years, McBride has served as a co-chair for the Baltimore Autism Speaks Walk. She serves on the corporate development subcommittee for the Autism Speaks National Capital Area Chapter and has been the Maryland State Advocacy Chair for the Autism Speaks Congress. She is a board member of Itineris, which serves adults with autism in the Baltimore region, and the St. Elizabeth School Foundation, which supports the financial future of St. Elizabeth School, a special education school in Baltimore.

McBride was recognized by Community Law in Action in 2015 with its Inspiring Voices award, which celebrates efforts to create positive change in Baltimore City.

She received her Leading Women award on December 4 at a reception and dinner in Annapolis. McBride and other honorees were featured in online profiles and in a print supplement to The Daily Record.
