MECU of Baltimore in coordination with Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts recently announced the 85 recipients of the MECU Neighborhood Event Grants for 2018.
The selected neighborhood associations and community-based non-profit organizations will receive funding of up to $1,000 to support special events including festivals, block parties, back-to-school rallies, and health fairs. The MECU Neighborhood Event Grants program is supported by MECU of Baltimore and administered by the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, with additional help provided by the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development.
“We’re proud to partner with the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts for the sixth consecutive year of the MECU Neighborhood Event Grant program,” said MECU Board Chairman Herman Williams, Jr. “The grants are a great way for us to demonstrate our commitment to the Baltimore community and its residents.”
“The 85 programs and community events are vital to strengthening Baltimore’s neighborhoods,” added MECU President and CEO John Hamilton. “As Baltimore’s credit union, we are excited to be able to play a role in bringing together residents to build a stronger Baltimore.”
