Non-Profit Holds Toy Drive and Volunteer Day for Park Heights Neighborhood

The Young Leaders of the Urban Land Institute District Council (ULI) of Baltimore have made several contributions toward helping the community this holiday season. The non-profit committee delivered toys on December 13th to the Park Heights neighborhood after holding a toy drive at their holiday party and volunteer day.

The volunteer day, a Giving Back event held in collaboration with the non-profit, Park Heights Renaissance (PHR), included decorating the Towanda Community Center and collecting gifts for PHR’s holiday bazaar where residents were provided gifts, dinner, and music. The Young Leaders Giving Back Sub-Committee purchased toys and clothes to give away and sought assistance from the ULI community at large for clothing and toy donations.

“As young professionals in the real estate industry, it’s vital that we come together to support neighborhoods in our community,” said Steve Marker, COPT, Young Leaders Group Chair. “We were ecstatic to donate toys and decorate the recreation center to help people in Park Heights enjoy the holidays and create a vibrant space to share with friends and family.”

Park Heights Renaissance (PHR) is a non-profit 501 c-3 corporation representing residents, businesses, religious institutions, schools, agencies, and other stakeholders committed to shaping a better future for Park Heights. PHR is the on-the-ground organization responsible for ensuring that objectives within Park Heights Master Plan are implemented. PHR opened their offices to commence the community revitalization of the Park Heights target area that is bounded by Northern Parkway to the North, Wabash Avenue to the West, Greenspring Road to the East, and Druid Hill to the South.
