Water’s Edge Event Center (WEEC), a premier waterfront event venue host to hundreds of public and private events annually including corporate retreats, seminars, conferences, weddings, charitable galas and more, today announced the hiring of Paul Kountz as General Manager to help manage the organization’s rapid growth. A veteran manager in the hospitality field, Kountz was VP at Chef’s Expressions, partner at The Pantry Catering, catering director at Brass Elephant Restaurant and Caterers and GM at Putting on the Ritz Catering.

“We are excited to have Paul join the team. We will benefit from his vast experience in the hospitality industry as we continue to grow and serve the region as the premier waterfront events venue,” said Jim Foulk, WEEC owner.

“Water’s Edge has a fantastic reputation in the industry and across the region. When an opportunity to join the team as GM became available, I couldn’t pass it up,” said Kountz. “There aren’t many venues that can deliver on unparalleled service, quality food, picturesque waterfront views and attention to every detail by a team that cares -- Water’s Edge does it all,” he added.

“We are extremely proud of our success and look forward to continuing to build on our achievements in the years to come with Paul as part of our leadership team,” said Executive Chef Manny Martinez.

As WEEC continues to grow its business this new position was necessary. Previously, WEEC Executive Chef Manny Martinez and owner Jim Foulk managed the day to day operations of the organization. Due to aggressive growth, a full time position tasked with running the operations of the organization became necessary. Chef Manny Martinez can now focus primarily on continuing to deliver creative industry leading quality menus at WEEC and Jim can rely on a veteran in the industry to take WEEC to new heights.

Water’s Edge Event Center, located in Harford County about 15 minutes north of White Marsh on the former property of the old Bata Shoe Factory, is host to hundreds of public and private events annually including corporate retreats, seminars, weddings, charitable galas, holiday brunches and more. Known for its quality food and beautiful waterfront panoramic view of the Bush River, WEEC is a nearly 32,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility that includes a conference center, two banquet halls with water views and outdoor entertaining space and an executive private dining area.
