Report: Sinclair Broadcast on Board with DOJ to Close Tribune Media Deal

Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBGI -0.2%) is ready to accept antitrust remediesproposed by the Justice Dept. to proceed with a $6.6B acquisition of Tribune Media (NYSE:TRCO), the New York Post reports.

Sources told the paper that Sinclair is being asked to sell 13 Tribune stations, while Sinclair would love to get that number down to 10 if it can.

Sinclair reportedly failed in an attempt to get the definition of market share expanded beyond TV broadcast advertising to both cable and broadcast advertising, under which it felt it wouldn't have to sell any of the 42 stations it's buying.
