11/21/17

It’s a rumble in the reading room, a smack down in the stacks, a brawl over books! While the Baltimore Ravens battle the Houston Texans on the field, the Enoch Pratt Free Library has challenged the Houston Public Library in Book Bowl 2017 for Giving Tuesday.

WHO: Enoch Pratt Free Library vs. Houston Public Library

WHAT: Book Bowl 2017 Fundraising Competition

WHEN: Kickoff, November 27 – midnight, November 28

The fundraising competition will begin the moment the Baltimore Ravens kickoff against the Houston Texans on MondayNight Football, November 27 and last until midnight on Giving Tuesday, November 28. The library that raises the most money online is crowned the 2017 Book Bowl Champions.

This is the third year the Pratt Library has challenged another city in the Book Bowl. “This competition is really a win-win for both library systems,” says Pratt Library President & CEO Heidi Daniel. “Private funding helps libraries like the Pratt change lives through innovative programs for both children and adults.”

Giving Tuesday is the philanthropic community’s response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It encourages individuals to embrace the importance of charitable giving during the holiday season. For more information on Book Bowl 2017, visit prattlibrary.org.
