Terps Fall To Michigan State, Lose Third Straight

The Maryland football team lost at Michigan State, 17-7, Nov. 18, falling to 4-7 overall and 2-6 in the Big Ten. It's the Terps' third straight loss and sixth in their last seven games.

Sophomore quarterback Max Bortenschlager returned from a shoulder injury to make the start against the Spartans, completing 13-of-25 throws, throwing no touchdowns or interceptions. Sophomore walk-on quarterback Ryan Brand started the second half, but Bortenschlager came back into the game in the fourth quarter once it was apparent the Terps would need to throw to get back into the game.

Bortenschlager struggled to make accurate throws in the inclement East Lansing, Mich., weather, which included wind, rain and snow.
