Curio Wellness, a premium medical cannabis company, recently announced it will partner with Wellness Solutions, a Frederick-based medical cannabis dispensary, to conduct a research and development (R&D) study focused on patient feedback on medical cannabis vape oils produced by Curio Wellness and three types of vape pen devices.
By teaming up with Maryland’s first licensed medical cannabis dispensary, Curio Wellness will leverage the study to collect data from patients who are registered with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission and have been recommended medical cannabis by a registered physician. The new study will allow Curio Wellness to gather data that will inform the formulation and effectiveness of its concentrates delivered via vaping system products.
Ongoing research is part of Curio’s commitment to delivering safe, effective and reliable medicinal products derived from cannabis to patients in Maryland. Vapor products are an extension of traditional marijuana inhalation methods and have many benefits, including rapid onset of relief without the potentially harmful effects of smoking.

The Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission has encouraged and advocated for focused and scientific approaches to bringing medical cannabis products to market.
Curio’s partnership with Wellness Solutions is an indicator of the strategic and research partnerships Marylanders can expect to see between medical cannabis licensees and Maryland’s eminent healthcare providers and institutions.

Although this initial study is limited to a small number of patients, Curio Wellness will begin regular shipment of flowers and other manufactured products, to licensed Maryland dispensaries, on or about December 1, and thereafter. In early 2018, patients should expect limited supplies and types of products. The volume and variety of products available in Maryland dispensaries will continue to increase over the next six months as the industry becomes fully operational.
