Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that SAP National Security Services, Inc. (SAP NS2), a provider of national security and critical infrastructure solutions, will create 95 new jobs and invest $6 million to expand its operation in Fairfax County. Virginia successfully competed against Maryland and Pennsylvania for the project.
"We are pleased to expand our operations in Fairfax County's thriving technology corridor,” said Mark Testoni, president and CEO of SAP NS2. "This area offers us access to a talented tech workforce with close proximity to our customers and business partners."
SAP NS2 is the independent U.S.-based arm of SAP, a global leader in enterprise software. SAP NS2 has offices in the Herndon area of Fairfax County, and more than 150 employees are based at that office. The company has had a presence in Fairfax County since 2007.
“Fairfax County is a perfect location for a company like SAP NS2 that uses a big data platform for national security work. We have the right kind of workforce and proximity to customers in both the public and private sectors,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA). “I am delighted to see the company growing here and my office stands ready to help them continue their success here.”
As it grows, SAP NS2 also is an active corporate citizen. The company created NS2 Serves, an independent, nonprofit organization established to give back to the community it serves – the people of the U.S. national security community. NS2 Serves offers training and employment assistance to recent veterans who have served our country’s national security needs. The FCEDA worked with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) to secure this project for Virginia. VEDP will support SAP NS2’s new job creation through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP). State-funded VJIP provides consultative services and funding to companies creating new jobs or experiencing technological change to support employee training activities.
