Penn-Mar Human Services, a recognized leader in providing innovative, quality supports and services to hundreds of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Maryland and Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce the appointment of Patricia “Pat” Torbert to the position of director of finance.

As Penn-Mar’s director of finance, Torbert will be responsible for directing and coordinating the nonprofit’s overall financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, overseeing the completion of the month-end financial statements, analysis of operating results, and supervision of the accounting staff in alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. She joins Penn-mar’s accounting team from Child Care Consultants, Inc., of York, where she began as fiscal coordinator, working her way up to the position of assistant executive director of finance and subsidy.

“We are very happy to have Pat Torbert join our team,” said Robert Kuhn, Penn-Mar’s CFO. “Her 24 years of experience in accounting in the non-profit arena is a major asset to our organization. I am confident in her ability to lead the dedicated team of accounting professionals we are so very fortunate to have here at Penn-Mar.”

Torbert, a resident of York, Pa., is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting. She is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and the Family Issues Roundtable Steering Committee serving as treasurer. In addition, she serves on the York Hospital Auxiliary Board of Directors and is its former treasurer. In 2013, Torbert was Central Penn Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Award finalist in the Large Nonprofit Organization category.
