Barcoding to Relocate Corporate Offices to 31,000 SF Facility in Baltimore

11/8/17

Barcoding, Inc., the leader in supply chain efficiency, accuracy, and connectivity, announces plans to move its corporate office to 3840 Bank St. in Baltimore, Maryland by the end of 2018. The 31,000-square-foot building in Highlandtown will be 1.5 miles away from the current Canton location and will consolidate several Barcoding offices. Work on the redevelopment is scheduled to begin in March 2018.

Barcoding purchased the former I.C. Isaacs & Co. garment factory earlier in 2017 after having a record year of growth. This year the company has acquired two companies, added several key staff members, solidified its presence on the West Coast and expanded its offerings. Barcoding will use space in the building for production, repair and testing of mobile devices from providers such as Zebra Technologies, Apple, Android and Honeywell. The new space also enables Barcoding to create an East Coast radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology center to showcase its ultra-high frequency (UHF) and bluetooth low energy (BLE) solutions.

A Conversation with Jay Steinmetz, CEO of Barcoding, Inc.

Shane Snyder, president, Barcoding, Inc., said, "Although we have had a very successful run in Canton, we have outgrown its capacity. This move solidifies Barcoding's commitment to the state of Maryland and the city of Baltimore. As we continue to invest in the city's infrastructure we hope to positively affect local residents by bringing more employment and innovation opportunities to this historic and vibrant city."

In addition to its growth, Barcoding has received national recognition in June as the Technology Company of the Year by the Maryland Tech Council (MTC), Maryland's largest technology trade association. The company also launched its new #SupplyChainGeek Network website to provide continuing education and improvement to customers and partners.

Jay Steinmetz, CEO of Barcoding, Inc., said, "We look forward to moving into the up-and-coming Highlandtown district. At this point in time construction in Baltimore is lacking, motivating us to double down and create a state-of-the-art facility that will enable us to continue to innovate and grow our roots in this charming city. In addition, as we redevelop the I.C. Isaacs & Co. garment factory, we are doing everything we can to repurpose materials of the building, such as using the original garment tables in our staging configuration area. It is important to us that we honor the building's past as an American factory as we continue to move technology forward with our solutions."

The project was recently awarded $795,000 in historic tax credits through the state. In addition, Baltimore-based Urban Design Group will design the project. For more information about Barcoding, Inc., please visit, http://www.barcoding.com.
