11/2/17

L2 Defense, Inc., a leading provider of integrated logistics support (ILS), training, and engineering solutions to the Defense, national security and first responder markets, announced today the acquisition of Advanced Technical and Educational Consultants, Inc. (ATEC). ATEC is a South Florida-based provider of emergency services training and simulation exercises for the military and federal agencies, as well as state and local emergency services communities.

The transaction brings together two highly complementary businesses serving U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) customers. L2 Defense, an SBA 8(a) certified small business, is one of the largest providers of ILS and training services for the chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) defense market. With its strong military-experienced staff, L2 Defense excels in addressing the needs and requirements of DoD programs and military operations. ATEC combines a highly qualified base of first responder and Homeland Security subject matter experts with state-of-the-art exercise methodologies to deliver the most effective programs for training the nation's emergency services and emergency management communities. Together, the newly combined company is positioned to provide end-to-end support for a full range of services for both military and civilian programs and operations.

"Combining ATEC's depth of experience, technical expertise and knowledge of the first responder market with L2 Defense's strength in military training and logistics planning will allow us to provide our government customers and business partners with broader and even more comprehensive solutions," said Sam Lennon, President of L2 Defense. "We are eagerly looking forward to growing this business together, and further strengthening our presence in and contributions to the federal, state, and international emergency management and incident response communities."

Together, L2 Defense and ATEC's client list includes U.S. Army North (USARNORTH), the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD), U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM), the National Guard Bureau (NGB), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the National Fire Academy, and a number of other key government, academia and commercial customers.

"For nearly 20 years, ATEC has been providing our nation's military and first responders with the critical training they need to prepare for large scale natural and man-made disasters. We are excited to be joining forces with such a customer-focused and innovative company. Our subject matter experts, proven technical training processes and first responder mindset will surely expand L2 Defense's capabilities and reach," said Rich Murphy, Senior Vice President of L2 Defense's Emergency Management Programs Division and former President of ATEC.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
