Deutsch Foundation Acquires Former "Afro Newspaper "Building for New Headquarters

11/2/17

The Robert W. Deutsch Foundation has closed on its purchase of 2519 N. Charles St., the former headquarters for the Baltimore Afro-American newspaper, know as The Afro. The terms of the sale were not made public.

After a full redevelopment is completed, the 17,000-square-foot building will become the Foundation’s new headquarters in early 2019.

“Over the last seven years, the Deutsch Foundation has turned its focus to the city of Baltimore,” said Jane Brown, Robert W. Deutsch Foundation’s President and Executive Director. “This move allows us to be closer to the programs and people we support. We envision a mix of tenants in this space.”
