10 Impact-focused Ventures Join Johns Hopkins’ Social Innovation Lab

Johns Hopkins’ Social Innovation Lab announced last week 10 new ventures that will participate in the program.

The six-month accelerator program beginning in November provides funding, mentorship, training, and office space to help social entrepreneurs develop their companies into sustainable ventures. It’s open to companies throughout Baltimore, and this year’s cohort is made up of five Johns Hopkins–affiliated ventures, and five that were started by residents of the wider community.

SIL head Darius Graham said the cohort of 10 startups was selected from 84 applications, which is the most the program has received to date. He added that nine ventures have leaders that are women and people of color.
