The Point To Open New Location In Towson

Project Marks Merritt Construction Services’ Eighth Area Restaurant Renovation

Merritt Construction Services is pleased to announce the completion of The Point’s second location at 523 York Road in Towson. Merritt was retained by The Point’s owner in October 2016 to renovate the former location of The Crease, a once popular Towson bar and restaurant. Like the original establishment in Fells Point, the restaurant will serve lunch, dinner and brunch.

The Point offers a main bar with 11 televisions and communal high-top tables, a craft beer and cocktail bar, rear dining area, an exposed kitchen and a patio area. Space in the back will be used for live music.

“Towson is great; I grew up and still live in the area,” said owner Erica Russo. “I went to The Crease in college, so this opening is particularly special.”

A modern-industrial interior features exposed beams, brick, timber and duct work, and garage doors and windows will open to the outside on nice days. The restaurant aims to attract business professionals looking for lunch and dinner options as well as locals seeking a popular brunch destination. Russo is also considering a college night once a week.

Merritt Construction Services served as the general contractor for the 6,400-square-foot project. Over the course of a year, the team completed extensive structural and cosmetic renovations and installed new electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. This marks Merritt Construction Services’ eighth area restaurant renovation.

“Merritt did a great job assessing everything and ended up replacing 90% of the restaurant,” said Russo. “Hardly anything was salvageable and I knew they could handle the amount of work this project required.”

The Point’s menu offers traditional American fare with a twist. Featuring signature flavors and fresh, local ingredients, all menu items are made from scratch.

Fans of The Point will delight in favorites such as the Charm City Crab Cake Sandwich and On Point Steak. A tempting weekend brunch menu includes Cherry Apple Pie Stuffed French Toast, the Hangover Cure Omelet, Fried Chicken N Waffles, Cinnamon Pancakes and much more. Bottomless cocktails will be served on the weekends until 2 p.m. for $15.00.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.

“The Towson area is being rejuvenated, and the next three to five years will bring a great deal of growth,” said Russo. “We’re excited to join the neighborhood and add to its success.”
