10/18/17

Residence Inn Baltimore at the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus is pleased to announce its grand opening on Thursday, October 26. The 15-floor, 194-suite hotel located at 800 N. Wolfe St. also includes 20,000 square feet of retail space adjacent to Eager Park, a 5.5 acre community green space that opened in May.

Construction on the $84 million, 200,000-sq.-ft. hotel began in September 2015. Partners include LSH GE Gateway 2, LLC, Greenebaum Enterprises, Pyramid Hotel Group and Marriott Corporation.

The Residence Inn also features the rooftop restaurant 16 on The Park by Executive Chef Allen Flint. 16 on The Park offers an all-natural menu with a focus on fresh seafood, including a carefully curated oyster bar with incredible views overlooking Baltimore.

General Manager Wendell L. Bush brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience, including various senior management capacities for some of the world’s largest hotel brands. The management team also includes Gerard M. Folly, Assistant General Manager, and Mary Parks, Director of Sales and Marketing.

Residence Inn has a total of 75 staff members, 75 percent of whom are Baltimore City residents — a result of a hire local initiative. Humanim, the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) and the Maryland Center for Hospitality Training partnered on this initiative.

“I am really looking forward to the grand opening of the Residence Inn Baltimore,” said Bush. “We have put together a tremendous team and we all have been working really hard behind the scenes to give our customers the very best experience from the moment we open our doors. Our first class service and amenities as well as our convenient location at the Johns Hopkins Medical campus makes us the perfect choice for anyone looking to stay in Baltimore.”

The Residence Inn features spacious studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with separate living/sleeping areas and fully equipped kitchens. Amenities include free hot breakfast, free Internet, a state-of-the-art fitness center and complimentary grocery delivery service. The hotel, which is pet-friendly, also offers four meeting rooms with a total of 1,885 sq. ft. of meeting space.
