Ravens head coach John Harbaugh stood up for embattled offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg Oct. 16, saying it was "nonsensical" to assign blame for the Ravens’ struggling offense to any one person.
Mornhinweg has been facing criticism as the architect of an offense that ranks 29th overall and 31st in passing yards per game (159.7) and passing yards per play (4.65). The Ravens were held without a point in the first half of lopsided losses to the Jacksonville and Pittsburgh Steelers, and the offense failed to score a touchdown in a 27-24 loss Oct. 15 to the Chicago Bears, who came into M&T Bank Stadium with a 1-4 record.
"I think Marty's a great coach," Harbaugh said at his weekly Monday news conference. "There's no question in mind about it. I've seen him over the years, I know what he can do. I know what he's trying to do. I know what all the coaches are trying to do. You do everything you can to put your guys in position to make plays, and you're in it together.
