Whatever momentum the Baltimore Ravens thought they had after a 30-17 win at Oakland in Week 5 evaporated in a thoroughly disappointing, 27-24 overtime loss to the Chicago Bears at M&T Bank Stadium Oct. 15, a setback that again raises serious questions about this team’s ability to contend for the playoffs.
The Bears, who entered the game 1-4, had lost 10 in a row on the road and were starting rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, outplayed the Ravens from start to finish. The Ravens (3-3) did not score an offensive touchdown, and only two return scores -- a 96-yard kick return by Bobby Rainey and a 77-yard punt return by Michael Campanaro -- made this game close.
“We are a 3-3 football team,” quarterback Joe Flacco said. “We have to look at ourselves hard and ourselves as the reason that we are 3-3.”
