MECU is pleased to announce that President and CEO John Hamilton has been recognized as one of Maryland’s 2017 Most Admired CEOs.

The award, granted by The Daily Record, honors Maryland business executives whose leadership and success have earned them respect and admiration among their peers and employees. Winners are selected based on their leadership and vision; competitiveness and innovation; community leadership and service; financial performance and growth; corporate leadership and board service; and nonprofit involvement.

Hamilton was one of six executives recognized in the Nonprofit Organizations with More

Than $10 million in Annual Revenue category. Other winners included executives from Frederick Regional Health System, The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region, Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc., Towson University and Maryland Public Television.

“To be a Most Admired CEO means that you have gained the respect and admiration of those around you. It means you are making a positive impact on the lives of others,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. “Our honorees this year were nominated by co-workers, community organizations and other leaders, not just for their professional achievements but because they are truly admired by their peers and employees. The Daily Record is pleased to recognize their leadership in our state and beyond.”

“I am truly grateful to be included in such an impressive group of leaders who are making a difference in their communities,” Hamilton said. “As we celebrate our 80th anniversary as Baltimore’s Credit Union, I’d especially like to thank the wonderful team at MECU for their dedicated work in helping our members achieve their financial goals.”
